Targeted Recruiting

What is targeted recruiting and how does it differ from general recruiting?

Targeted recruiting is the practice of focusing recruiting effort on specific candidate populations defined by skill set, demographic, geography, or career stage, rather than running broad job-board campaigns. It includes executive search, diversity sourcing, university recruiting, and skills-specific outreach. Targeted recruiting usually produces higher conversion and quality of hire than general posting but requires more upfront sourcing investment.
