Human Resource Planning

What is human resource planning and how is it done?

Human resource planning (HRP) is the process of forecasting an organization's future workforce needs and developing strategies to meet them. It typically covers headcount forecasting, skills gap analysis, succession planning, hiring plans, training investments, and reduction-in-force planning when needed. Effective HRP aligns workforce plans with business strategy and produces specific actions on hiring, development, and reorganization rather than just analytical reports.
