Tangible Rewards

What are tangible rewards and how are they used in compensation?

Tangible rewards are the financial and physical components of total rewards: base salary, bonuses, equity, benefits, perks, and other measurable forms of compensation. They are distinguished from intangible rewards like recognition, growth opportunities, meaningful work, and culture. Effective compensation strategies combine both, with tangible rewards setting the floor and intangible rewards driving discretionary effort and retention.
